Science Fair
The Science Fair will be held the November 22 and 23, 2011.
All students must participate in the Science Fair.
Grading is as follows (see Project Timeline for due dates and specific points per task):
Pre-fair tasks: 250 points
Display Board: 100 points
Presentation: 50 points
Research Report: 200 points
Total: 600 points
The list of
Science Fair Project Ideas.docx
can help you find a project. Remember, your project must try to answer a
scientific
question. Your experiment must measure something, and you must repeat your experiment so that you collect at least three sets of data.
The
Science Fair Information Letter.docx
should be completed by each student and his or her parents or guardians. (Included in the handbook.)
The
Science Fair Handbook 2011.docx
has detailed instructions for each part of the science project: the inquiry process, writing the research report, creating the display board, and giving the presentation, along with the schedule of interim due dates and an explanation of the judging and awards.
The
Science Fair Project Timeline.docx
is a one-page document listing the due dates and point values for each part of the science project. (Included in the handbook)
The Research Report must be typed according to a specific format. Students are advised to use the
Science Fair Research Report TEMPLATE.doc
, using the "File - Save As" function to create their own copy of the report, following the directions in the template.
